Marine of Sisco, between sea and mountain

 

At 15 km in the north of Bastia, the village of Sisco is no less than 18 hamlets influenced by the Romans, the Pisans and the baroque style but also by shepherds and farmers.

Everywhere, you will see the footprint of those Corsicans who came back from America in the 19th and 20th century. The Cime de Folicce mountain culminate at 1305 m. The town is surrounded by three chains of mountains which gives a deep and picturesque valley opened to the Tuscan archipelago.

Sightseeings and monuments:

You will be able to do excursions to the peaks of the Cap-Corse on its numerous paths. Santa Catalina, Sant’Antone, San Martinu are our chapels, I Palazzi di Americani …… you will live a real pilgrimage at any moment.

Activities:

A wide range of f beautiful sightseeings: coastal road and picturesque roads leading to the hamlets, many beautiful viewpoints from the villages, remarkable excursions to the surrounding peaks: Monte Caneto (1325 m) to the west, Bocca di San Giovanni (957 m) to the west, Monte Stello (1307 m) to the southwest.

At Sisco Marine: a large cave of Santa Catalina, a little further close to the sea.

From Sant’Antone village: the departure of beautiful walks (Sainte-Reparate pass).

The San Martinu Chapel: it’s included in the European way of Saint Martin de Tours. you maybe heard about this beautiful European project which is develop every year and based on the revitalization of the rural life. Sisco and all Saint Martin de Tours parishes are a part of it.

From Assalaccia and Pietrapiana villages: departure to many beautiful excursions, to abandoned hamlets and summits, including: Col Saint-Jean and, Mount Corvo, Cime de Puberzato, Mount Caneto (1325 m), highest point of Cape Town. Beautiful and wide panoramas.
